Why come to counselling?
Life is tough. We get bruised and broken-hearted. There are times where we need someone's help, walking with us. Counselling can help us understand ourselves and our situations and find our way to healing.

Where I work
I work in person in Gloucester and Malvern and online.

Why I work as a counsellor
I feel like counselling chose me as much as the other way round! But as I look at why I do this work, it is primarily for these three reasons:

I love the deep encounter with people that counselling requires. Healing is precious and I want to be a part of that process with others. I have found that symbol is the language of the heart. Therapy is an incredible place to learn and teach this language that unlocks our imaginative, creative capacities, allowing us to become more really ourselves.

Why choose me?
It's not easy to know which therapist to approach, especially if you are just browsing the internet. Maybe try a session before making the decision and whether it's me or another person you feel drawn to work with, go with that inkling.

What modalities do I use?
I incorporate concepts from the three main psychotherapeutic approaches of Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the way I work.

Qualifications
I am clinically trained as a counsellor to level 7, hold a Masters from the University of Cambridge and am an accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) and abide by its ethical guidelines.
Can't afford counselling?
As I have seen that counselling can be the catalyst of yearned-for change, I am passionate about access to affordable counselling for those on low incomes. In addition to my private practice, I volunteer with www.thewellcounselling.co.uk which operates in Malvern and work at www.listeningpost.org.uk in Gloucestershire. Both these charities offer 'donate what you can afford' counselling services for adults.
